Parts Retail Apprenticeship

We are looking for an enthusiastic Retail Parts Apprentice to join our growing team at Petworth. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a long-standing family business that will give the successful candidate the support and platform to develop their skills and gain a Level 2 Trade Supplier qualification.

Olivers are a long-standing family business with a heritage in farm machinery going back 200 years. We were the first independent CLAAS dealer in 1947 and the business has gone from strength to strength.

Job Role:

  • Serving & assisting customers face to face and on the phone
  • Handle customer queries and resolve issues effectively
  • Identifying and supplying parts to both customers and the service department, using parts books and online systems
  • Provide accurate quotes and product information
  • Process sales transactions, invoices, credits, and returns
  • Assisting with Stock Management 
  • Receiving deliveries 
  • Work closely with colleagues across the business
  • Warehouse Management

Training Plan

In addition to the on the job training, apprentices will be required to attend 2 x 1-week blocks at the CLAAS Academy in Saxham, plus monthly virtual classroom sessions. 

Whilst on the programme, apprentices will be required to gather evidence to create a portfolio to demonstrate that they have met all the competencies and elements set out in the apprenticeship standard.

Alongside the training received from CLAAS, apprentices will receive on the job training and support from Olivers, in addition to regular progress reviews with both CLAAS and Olivers.

Before being accepted onto the apprenticeship, any candidate will be required to undertake an initial assessment with CLAAS. This assessment will check that the apprenticeship programme is suitable for the candidate, check the candidate’s prior learning and experience and decide if any adjustments need to be made.

Skills

  • Time Management – Ability to set timescales to own tasks to enable completion of duties and to ensure all tasks are carried out in a timely manner whilst not compromising safety.
  • Enjoy working in a busy atmosphere and can cope under pressure during busy periods.
  • The ability to communicate with customers and other work colleagues with a flexible approach to completing the assigned tasks.
  • Capable of working on own initiative as well as part of a team.
  • Computer literate.
     
  • 39 basic hours Monday – Friday, additional hours and weekend work as required due to seasonal demands.
  • Overtime available especially during peak season
  • 24 days company holiday plus bank holidays.
  • Workwear & PPE will be supplied
